My Story

My passion for costumes began when I started volunteering in the shop for Theatre Under the Stars. I will never forget the feeling of walking into that costume shop for the first time, not knowing that it would soon become a second home. I knew that I belonged in a theatre, but I wasn't sure where. I owe this discovery to costume designer, Christina Sinosich. She entrusted me with amazing projects and opportunities that pushed my limits and lit the fire to build skills and confidence in such a wild and vast field of work and to continue to challenge myself as a designer and always keep learning. 

After a few years of working with Christina, a temporary position opened up for the Arts Club Theatre Company, covering for their Head Dresser at the Stanley Industrial Alliance Stage; the largest of the company's three venues. I knew that it was an opportunity for me. This has given me the chance to work on large-scale professional plays and musicals with many incredible designers, directors, and performers that continue to inspire me today. A few favourites from this time include: Disney's Beauty and the Beast, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time, and Mamma Mia.

Soon after the curtain had closed on my time as Head Dresser at the Arts Club, a new "2nd Dresser" position was created and I had the chance to return to the company where I still work today, this gives me the privilege  to continue to learn from everything that comes in our doors at the front line. Problem solving, trying new things, adapting, communicating with designers and performers alike; I treat this all as an invaluable education as a designer and I am so happy and honoured to be a part of this wonderful theatre community in Vancouver.
